Amin MohammadyariI graduated in Petroleum Engineering, but during my studies, I discovered a strong passion for design. That realization inspired me to explore the field through curiosity, experimentation, and plenty of trial and error. Eventually, I decided to pursue design academically while simultaneously building practical experience by working professionally in the industry.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work across different design fields, including lighting, furniture, and product design. Alongside my professional work, I have developed my own personal design projects and entered them into international design competitions, where I have been fortunate to receive several awards and recognitions. These experiences have shaped not only my skills as a designer but also my perspective on creating meaningful and innovative products. Akhalteke Lounge Chair by Amin Mohammadyari Akhalteke offers a unique sitting experience, evoking the sensation of riding a horse for the first time. Inspired by the designer's childhood horseback riding experiences and fascination with equine anatomy, the design establishes a two way interaction between the user and their experience. Drawing from the saddle, one of humanity's earliest seating forms, Akhalteke blends the comfort of a lounge chair with the essence of riding. The name comes from the Akhalteke, a breed of Turkmen horses, reflecting the design’s inspiration and dynamic form. |
